e-Oftamo.CBO: challenges and overcoming

e-Oftalmo.CBO: desafios e superação

We present the second edition of e-Oftalmo. CBO to every Brazilian ophthalmologist. A scientific journal often has several difficulties to overcome in the beginning, including keeping its periodicity up. Besides, the challenge of having a bilingual journal (Portuguese and English) makes it even harder. All such difficulties have been gradually overcome, thanks to the continuous work of the team that set out to create the journal. I would like to thank everyone, especially Dr. Keila Monteiro de Carvalho, who has spared no effort to make e-Oftalmo. CBO possible and accessible to everyone.

In this edition, we present a vision of the present and future of Age-Related Macular Degeneration, an explanatory video about macular hole surgery with phacoemulsification, an article of consensus by the Brazilian Society of Subnormal Vision, an expert’s take on the water drinking test in glaucoma, and a review of the novelties at the last ARVO meeting by our colleague Mario Nóbrega, from the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. I thank all the authors for the articles and priceless collaboration.

I hope the material in this edition pleases our readers, and we would like to remind everyone that new articles should be submitted directly at e-Oftalmo. CBO’s website—the new digital journal of Brazilian ophthalmology.

Sincerely yours,
